Officially a graduate

Graduated yesterday with a First Class Honours in IT (BSc). What a wonderful day! 

Four weeks in...

I have been part of the Gower team for four weeks now. Settling into the job really well and realising just how much of a fast learner I actually am. I am also developing my personal skills by making sure I use my initiative in every situation where possible.

Slowly getting used to the office environment, shocked me a bit that when a 'brew' is needed, a brew is made. Rather than in Retail, nothing but water is allowed to be consumed (even in a coffee shop).

During four weeks I have received my degree results and I am ecstatic to say I am graduating with a First Class BSc Honours... all my hard work has eventually paid off! Also in this time I have moved into my own apartment and now I am officially a Yorkshire resident. Very grown up.

Thoroughly enjoying the 'working world' so far and really looking forward to developing a challenging but rewarding career.

First week as a working women

First week at Gower Furniture was a success (with the exception of a few travel mishaps). I even have my own desk - which I was very excited about.

I have spent the week in a busy sales office getting to grips with the various systems that they use on a daily basis. It's been very interesting being on the 'user' side of the software rather than the developers. Already there is various improvements to their systems and databases that I would love to sink my teeth into, but these things need patience.

The team seem really friendly, helpful and motivated. The culture of the office seems relaxed but yet productive. Looking forward to see what the next week will bring...

Preparation

Well its the first day of the start of my career tomorrow. Mixed feelings... abit nervous but really excited, can't wait to get into it all.

Preparation is complete; work clothes brought, official documents filed, travel organised and mentally prepared to start the world of work.
